In the morning, we will explore La Candelaria, the historic heart of Bogotá, on a guided walking tour. We will wander through its charming colonial streets, discover its vibrant urban art, and visit some of the city’s most iconic landmarks, including Chorro de Quevedo, Bolívar Square, the Primatial Cathedral, and some of Bogotá’s most important historic buildings.
We will then visit the Gold Museum, home to an extraordinary collection of pre-Columbian artifacts. Here, we will learn more about the Indigenous cultures that inhabited this land and discover the fascinating story behind El Dorado, one of Latin America’s most enduring legends.
After lunch, we will make our way to Monserrate, where we will ascend by cable car or funicular to more than 3,000 meters (9,800 feet) above sea level.
We will arrive just in time to enjoy one of the most memorable moments of the day: sunset over Bogotá.
From the top of Monserrate, the city stretches out below us. If the weather is clear, we will watch Bogotá gradually transform from day to night as thousands of city lights begin to illuminate the landscape.
A perfect introduction to Colombia, combining history, culture, flavors, and breathtaking views.
